In his role as Chairman, Richard still offers significant support to the team in making key strategic and management decisions and also provides an instantly recognisable figurehead within the local property market.

With nearly 30 years at RBA, Malcolm has been key to the success of the business, especially when in its infancy.

A Director for many years, Malcolm has worked in almost all sectors of the industry in either Employer’s Agent or Quantity Surveyor, however in recent times has been predominantly involved in complicated residential and commercial schemes for private developers.

Malcolm offers a “safe pair of hands” to all projects he is involved with, and his commitment and work ethic is exemplary and renowned in the Leeds region.

Malcolm lives in Leeds with his long term partner but when away from his work/home commitments is a keen follower of rugby league.

Gareth Howie - Director

Gareth joined RBA in 2002 and during his time at RBA, he has been responsible for the successful delivery of numerous high profile and high value projects. These have included a new exemplar dairy facility for Arla Foods at Stourton in Leeds, a new dairy in Lockerbie, and a mix of prestigious residential developments including Hungate in York and One Brewery Wharf in Leeds.

In recent times Gareth has also safely delivered the new Monks Cross retail development, and acted for Leeds United in the extension of their East Stand at Elland Road.

Gareth is married with three children, but finds time between his busy work and family commitments to play football with long standing friends.

Tom Ward - Director

Tom is RBA’s “newest” Director. He was appointed in 2018 following over 10 years’ service having first joined the practice is 2007. He graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2005 with a First Class Honours degree in Quantity Surveying and since then has worked on a number of the practice’s most challenging schemes, with a particular focus on the commercial, residential and leisure sectors.

Recent projects Tom has managed delivery of include Central Square in Leeds, a 250,000 sqft office development for Marrico Asset Management funded by M&G Real Estate, and Rudding Park’s new spa facility at Harrogate. He is comfortable undertaking the “traditional” Quantity Surveying function but particularly enjoys being able to bring additional value to projects when acting as Employer’s Agent and/or Project Manager. Away from the office Tom enjoys spending time with his young family and is a sports “fanatic” with a particular interest in football, rugby league and cricket.
