Project Description -
The Temple Green site comprises approximately 165 acres of land, with planning permission for over 3m sq ft of accommodation. Site infrastructure works
comprise phased remediation of the former open cast mine, together with re-engineering of previously backfilled material to form prepared development
plateaus.
Phase 1 of the site includes adoptable highways to provide access to serviced development plots and also the installation of drainage, power and other
services to the site. Phase 2 work opens up further areas of the site, and includes a highway bridge spanning Wyke Beck, which runs across the plots. Phase
1 works are programmed to complete early in 2016 – and in part have been pre-sold to Leeds City Council for development of a 1,000 space park and ride
facility.
The site has received government funding via the Enterprise Zone Capital Grant Fund, and the development has also benefited from a loan from Leeds City
Region LEP’s Growing Places Fund.
The infrastructure works will continue in a phased nature as sales / lettings proceed with Phase 3 including remediation of a former Yorkshire Water filter
bed site.
